Wà:šiw Land Back in the Tahoe Basin: Join the Movement
Washiw Zulshish Goom TahnNu (Washoe Warrior Society) is a grassroots non-profit organization consisting of Wášiw community members. Our work is rooted in restoring Wašiw land, culture, and sacred relationship in the heart of the Tahoe Basin. We're building a movement for LandBack in Da Aw (Lake Tahoe), the spiritual and geographical center of the universe for Washiw.
Our organization was founded mostly by elders who have endeavored to construct Wašiw TahnNu 'Angal (the Washoe Peoples House) since 2009; a spiritual/cultural gathering house dedicated to ceremony, prayer, and the cultural teachings of Wašišiw (the people from here).
Washiw Zulshish Goom Tahn Nu believes that the time to come together to heal the land, the water and the people is NOW!
